THE “Guitar Whisperer” is bringing his unique show to Worcester.

Royal College of Music graduate Richard Durrant will perform at Huntingdon Hall on Friday, November 6.

While the main body of his show is classical guitar music, it will also include a rendition of Steve Reich’s Electric Counterpoint accompanied by an animated film, Mike Oldfield’s Tubular Bells performed on ukulele and bodhran, and a transcription of JS Bach for tenor banjo that can only be described as revelatory.

Durrant, who has been a guest soloist with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra at the Royal Albert Hall, is well known for pushing musical boundaries.

In 2008 he released Recuerdos, an album for which he -rearranged works by Tchaikovsky, Bach and Scarlatti.
