A FUND-RAISING walk across the Malvern Hills was a huge success, raising £10,000 for Cancer Research UK.
A total of 100 walkers took part in the annual event, which started from Castlemorton on Saturday morning.
Organiser Ray Worth, the chairman of the Malvern branch of Cancer Research UK, was delighted with the event’s success.
“It was a great day, with a very happy atmosphere and that is the most money we have ever raised,” he said.
“The weather was very kind to us. We had lots of family groups and lots of dogs and everyone had a good time.”
This year’s success brings the total the walk has raised in the 11 years it has been running to more than £70,000.
“We are extremely grateful to everyone who has supported the walk over the years and helped us to raise so much money,” said Mr Worth.
He is now already looking forward to next year’s event, which will take place on Saturday, October 16.
