WINE writer and broadcaster Philippe Boucheron, one of the first governors of Worcester’s St Richard’s Hospice, is helping celebrate the charity’s 25th anniversary with a special wine-tasting evening.

On Friday, November 27, he will host a Grand Christmas Tasting of 24 approachable, agreeable and affordable wines from Aldi UK. The wines will be priced between £4 and £10.

“Over the past 25 years, St Richard’s has grown into a most valuable and much-needed service,” he said.

“I am proud of being a small part of that beginning and this tasting enables me to put something back into the community.

“Over Christmas, so many of us have enough to worry about, let alone choose the right wine within our often straitened budget. The tasting will enable us to look at some excellent value-for-money wines for parties, meals and even when friends just drop in unexpectedly.”

The event has been organised by Gerard Smith, associate director at Andrew Grant’s estate agents. Tickets for the event in the Main Hall at RGS Worcester in The Tything are £15 including a light supper, available from St Richard’s Hospice on 01905 763963.

Your Worcester News has teamed up with the hospice in Wildwood Drive, Worcester, to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

This year, St Richard’s needs £4.8 million to provide free services to 1,800 patients and families suffering from cancer and other terminal illnesses.
