OVER the weekend of October 9 to 11 most of the band of Bromyard Lights ‘putter uppers’, Father Christmas supporters and partners paid a visit to see Blackpool’s famous lights. While there they visited the illuminations depot where illuminations manager Richard Ryan talked about lights and gave a guided tour showing how the illuminated pieces are made. It was interesting to hear that similar experiences and problems are encountered by Blackpool and not just Bromyard.

Following the visit to the depot the group was entertained at a civic reception given by the Mayor and Mayoress of Blackpool, Councillor and Mrs Norman Hardy.

The visit, which was organised by Mike Cresswell, was a great success and the group came away with not only ideas but also the offer of some redundant lighting equipment and their help in purchasing items.
