THE Diocese of Worcester’s new children’s officer has been given the licence to play.

Emma Pettifer was licensed in an uplifting service of music and celebration earlier this month.

Lots of children turned out to wish her well as she was officially launched in her new role by the Bishop of Worcester at St Stephen’s Church, Barbourne, Worcester.

The afternoon was funfilled, designed with children in mind, who were invited to learn to drum, make streamers, have their faces painted and wear themselves out on the bouncy castle.

They were then entertained by music and the bishop’s puppetry.

Emma has been working across the diocese since March, along with members of the education team, to enable faith development in children and young people.

Emma will now be organising Christmas services, Nativity plays and workshops at the end of October and early November.
