GENEROUS customers donated enough money in one day to buy a new puppy for charity Dogs for the Disabled.
Collectors spent the day at Webbs Garden Centre in Wychbold and were staggered to see customers put more than £500 into buckets and tins.
Fund-raising volunteer Alan Chater said: “The great news for us is that it was a record-breaking day with a staggering £505 being raised.
“In real terms, that’s enough to buy a new puppy for the charity.
We are very grateful to everyone who donated. The mascot, Hero, was a huge hit with children and adults alike.”
Webbs’ executive chairman, Ed Webb, said: “As a long-established local family firm we strive to support our local community as much as we can and we are delighted that customers were so generous to this charity.”
