A NAVAL reservist who served in Iraq is one of just 13 people this year to receive a special service medal from the Queen.
Lieutenant Commander Clive Langmead of Malvern, pictured, was recognised for solving the problem of getting hundreds of combat troops into landing craft and helicopters in the shortest time possible.
He went to Buckingham Palace on Monday where he received the Queen’s volunteer reserve medal.
The work of Lt Cdr Langmead is now employed across the Royal Navy’s troop ships.
