PAINTINGS and photographs celebrating the lives of two local artists are being sold to raise money for St Richard’s Hospice.

A lifetime of paintings celebrating the beauty of nature by the late amateur artist Arthur Lewis, will be on show at the Guildhall, in Worcester’s High Street on Friday.

The watercolour paintings are being exhibited and sold from 10am to 5pm to raise money for the hospice in Wildwood Drive, Worcester.

Mr Lewis’ widow, Doreen, said: “It was Arthur’s passionate love of the beauty of the natural world which he wanted to share with the rest of us.”

Photographs by the late Paul Beard are from a vast collection which he took throughout his life and celebrate his love of worldwide travel.

The photographs will be sold for the Paul Beard Forget me Not Fund in aid of the hospice.

Visitors will be able to buy the book and 2010 calendars of Worcestershire Villages, Churches and Pubs by Roy Millar, illustrated by Evesham-based artist Barbara Butcher, with all profits going to St Richard’s.

Your Worcester News has teamed up with the Worcester hospice to celebrate its 25th anniversary.

This year St Richard’s needs £4.8 million to provide free services to 1,800 patients and families suffering from cancer and other terminal illnesses.
