Traffic on the M5 in Worcestershire came to a standstill today following a two-vehicle crash.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the northbound carriageway between junctions 8 and 7, shortly before 2.55pm.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “Crews arrived to find two vehicles which had been involved in a collision.
“One of them had collided with the motorway’s central barrier.
“A passenger in this vehicle, a man in his twenties, had neck and back pain but otherwise had no injuries.
“He was immobilised with the use of a spinal board and neck collar and was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
“Two other people were assessed at the scene and did not require any further treatment.”
Two ambulance crews, an incident support officer in a rapid response vehicle and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham attended.
A Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) vehicle, which was in the area at the time, was also there.
