THIRTY-ONE members attended the annual meeting. Ann Ballard gave an entertaining report on the International Nepalese Evening.
Ann Oakes reported on the Corbett Group meeting.
Jenny Marsh attended the autumn area meeting where she learnt there was to be a new logo for the WI. Jean Boulter gave details of the Christmas lunch at the Fir Tree. The next Play Reading Group meeting is on Thursday, December 3.
The report of the annual meeting 2008 was read. The financial statement was proposed by the treasurer, seconded by Patricia Mills and accepted.
The committee’s annual report was given by the secretary. The president then thanked everyone for helping her throughout the year and then proposed the adoption of the annual report.
This was accepted unanimously.
Anita Boston, the WIA, was then introduced. Mrs Boston gave us further information about the honey bee problem and then organized the voting for the new committee. Judy Lee was elected as the new president. Ann Randall will stay as treasurer. The new secretary will be Pat Keen. There will be 12 members this year on the committee.
The competition for a Christmas card was won by Rose Barraclough. The raffle was won by Margaret Young.
