TWO men were injured after crashing on a rural Worcestershire road today.

The farmer, whose field the Midlands Air Ambulance landed in, said it was the 14th collision on the A442 Bridgnorth Road, in Shatterford, near Kidderminster, he had seen in the past year alone.

Two ambulance crews, an incident support officer in a rapid response vehicle and the air ambulance were sent to the scene of the crash, which happened just before 11am.

Two cars were in collision and both drivers were hurt.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The driver of one of the cars, a man in his 60s, had rib, back and neck pain. He was airlifted to Selly Oak Hospital in Birmingham. “His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“The driver the other car was a man in his 40s, with his son as passenger. He was treated at the scene for shoulder pain and was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital. His son was assessed and found to be uninjured but also went to the same hospital to accompany his father.”
