Catch up with the past for free

RESIDENTS in Worcestershire are being given the chance to learn about their local history.

The county council will be holding the fascinating exhibition at Tenbury Library to give people in the town a chance to find out more about the area’s past.

As part of the event Paul Hudson, head of Worcestershire History Centre, will be giving a free talk highlighting stories held in the Record Office, which staff and customers have suggested as their favourite.

The talk on Friday, December 4 at 2pm, will include a range of stories including the funny, the sad and the moving.

Mr Hudson said: “The stories I’ll be sharing offer a fascinating mix covering schools, crime, poor law, diaries, football and death. They are a reflection of the wealth of social history contained within the archives and they really capture the imagination.”

Places for the talk are free but booking in advance is essential. To confirm a place visit the library or call 01584 810285.
