I WOULD like to thank all the fans at Worcester City for their support during my time at the club.

Over my two years in charge, they have been great and have always backed me.

The vast majority are very knowledgable about the club and football and have always given their full support, often above and beyond the call of duty when we let them down by not performing.

Sometimes we didn’t perform and that is down to both myself and the players and we have to hold our hands up for that.

I expect a few negative comments because of where the team is in the league but, following my departure, I have also read some comments on the Worcester News website from fans who have been positive and that has inspired me to want to return to the game and do well.

I have got good memories from my time at Worcester. When I joined we were in the bottom six and ended up making a push for the play-offs at one stage. Those were great days.

Beating AFC Wimbledon 3-2 in October 2008 was also a magnificent result, as was defeating Grays Athletic in the FA Trophy last month.

On that occasion we won convincingly and that’s the benchmark the players have got to set for the rest of the season.

I still believe in the team and there are plenty of games left to get out of the relegation situation — against the likes of Weymouth and Lewes.

Weymouth are due to visit St George’s Lane on Saturday and I will be disappointed to miss that game, but it’s a great opportunity to put a bit of breathing space between the teams.

It’s going to be a great effort to beat them but hopefully the players will train well tomorrow and get themselves motivated to go and win.

They have always supported me and came to the club to play for Worcester City and for myself.

I was really under pressure to get a competitive side out this season. It’s disappointing where the team is placed but I still believe the players can keep City up and get through in the Trophy.

Carl Heeley is taking charge of the team and we will always stay friends.

I will be there for advice if he needs it but we will probably speak a few times each week anyway.

There’s a few things to sort out at Worcester but then I have got to get back into the game as soon as possible.

I sent texts to a lot of people on my way home on Monday.

I sent 26 messages and between about 12.30am and 1am I got some replies and calls which was nice for that time of night. That gives me a bit of encouragement.

I am desperate to get back out on the training field and do my coaching, which is what I love, but unfortunately there’s only so many jobs to go round.

I will apply for positions but I am disappointed with how it’s finished at Worcester.
