MUSIC pupils have raised £1,000 for a children’s charity with a hospice in Worcester.
The pupils from the Queen Elizabeth Humanities College in Bromyard presented the cheque to Acorns Children’s Hospice.
The money was raised at the annual Christmas Wassail.
The Wassail contained music performed by the award-winning choir, swing band and the five steel bands in the college, plus soloists.
Head of music David Kemp said: “This was the culmination of a very busy and successful term for the music department which started with the choir, many of our instrumentalists and vocal soloists winning first prizes at Fleetwood Arts Festival.”
Jill Davies of Acorns went to the college’s main assembly to receive the cheque which was presented by Connor Lloyd, Daniel Masters and Vicky Skipp – three musicians in year 10.
