A 24-year-old man has admitted causing a crash which killed a Worcestershire vicar.

Christopher Badgery, of Pudford Lane, Martley, near Worcester, admitted dangerous driving and drink driving when he appeared at Worcester Crown Court today.

He was remanded in custody to be sentenced on Tuesday, March 23, when he faces a jail sentence.

The Rev Ian Scott died following the crash on the A4103 in Bransford, near Worcester, on July 18 last year, the night before his 64th birthday.

The father of two grown-up children, of Corbett Avenue, Droitwich, was chaplain at Evesham Community Hospital from 2007 and before that chaplain for Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust.

His widow Sue - a passenger in the same car - suffered a broken pelvis. Five other people were also injured.
