TWO men have completed the Tough Guy Challenge – the first part of a 12-month charity fund-raising effort.
Doug Marshall, aged 24, an accountant from Droitwich who works in the small business services unit of Ormerod Rutter, has joined with Nick Cawley, 22, who is studying to be a physical education teacher at the University of Worcester, in the year-long charity haul to raise funds of more than £6,000 for Children with Leukaemia.
The main sponsors are Ormerod Rutter, with additional support from graphics firm John Gilmore and Stourport-based D-Zine Furniture Hire, but the athletes hope to attract further support as the year progresses.
The Tough Guy Challenge, held near Wolverhampton, was the first of the pair’s busy year-long schedule, which includes a gruelling run through the Wyre Forest, the London Marathon, a triathlon and a 50-mile bike ride around Worcester.
