THOSE wanting to work up a sweat while viewing fantastic scenery are being urged to sign up for a Worcestershire village’s annual run.
The Scenic Six is named after the six-mile (9.6km) multi-terrain run around the lanes, fields and footpaths of Peopleton, near Pershore.
For those who would like a less strenuous day out there is an alternative two-mile (3.2km) fun run to jog or walk.
The event on Sunday will raise funds for St Richard’s Hospice.
Fund-raising manager Tricia Cavell said: “This is a great family event and we all find strength to run into the village hall afterwards to eat delicious cake made by local women’s institute members. A welcome treat after a jog around the fields.”
She said participants were aged from five to 75.
“The appeal of it is you can really do your own thing,” she said. “Keen runners take on the multi-terrain run while others just take it gently and enjoy the fun run."
Entries are £8 for affiliated club members or £10 for others.
The fun run fee is £3. To register, download the entry form at strichards.org.uk/scenicsix.
