A WOMAN has escaped serious injury after her car rolled down a ditch into a brook.
The driver, believed to be in her 50s, suffered chest injuries and was trapped in the car for 25 minutes before firefighters could free her from the wreckage.
The accident happened in Spindle Road, Malvern, at 8.30am yesterday.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The car had come to rest on its roof in a brook around 10ft below the road.
“The driver was treated at the scene by ambulance staff while being extricated from the car by Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service.”
The woman was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital on a spinal board.
The spokesman said: “Considering the damage to the vehicle and the fact it came to rest upside down in a water filled brook, the woman was fortunate not to have suffered more serious injuries.”
