Child taken to hospital after crash on BMX

Cyclists are being warned to wear a helmet after a child on a bike collided with a car crash in Ledbury.

The boy, believed to be nine years old, was riding his BMX when the crash happened on Childer Road, Ledbury at around 5.35pm today. A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “The boy suffered multiple minor injuries including a bumped head and leg.

“He was treated at the scene for his injuries and immobilised using a spinal board and neck collar."

The youngster, who was not wearing a helment, was transferred by ambulance to Hereford County Hospital for further assessment and treatment.
