THE Countess of Wessex has visited a Worcestershire firm to mark its 30 years in business.
Sophie – wife of the Queen’s youngest son Prince Edward – spent an hour at Hewett Recruitment’s Kidderminster head office yesterday.
The countess arrived at around 10.30am, wearing a smart, steel grey suit, and was accompanied by the Lord Lieutenant of Worcestershire Michael Brinton.
The company’s founder and managing director Louise Hewett said: “She was absolutely delightful. She was very informed, obviously a talented businesswoman herself, you could really see that. She was asking quite probing questions. She had a lovely sense of humour and was genuinely interested in every member of the team.
“The visit was absolutely incredible. It left everybody feeling totally elated.”
The Countess heard about some of the firm’s work within the community and with local charities was also introduced to members of Worcestershire Ambassadors, a group which promotes the county. She unveiled a commemorative plaque which will be displayed by the company, which also has an office in Worcester.
Ben Mannion, who heads Hewett Recruitment’s specialist IT Division, spoke to the countess.
He said: “The Countess was introduced to all of us and it was lovely to meet her.”
The countess then travelled to Redditch and spent time with two community groups.
