THE building of Worcester’s new cycle and foot bridge is under way.
The Diglis Bridge will link Lower Wick to just south of Diglis Island, connecting cycling and walking paths on either side of the river.
Building officially started last November.
A Worcestershire County Council spokesman said: “Construction of the Diglis Bridge has begun. The eastern bank foundations are under way and construction of the foundations on the western bank will start this week.
“We are currently awaiting an updated schedule of works from our contractors, which will give us an accurate overview of how the project is progressing.”
The bridge, which is costing more than £2 million to build, is due to be completed this summer.
