A LADIES' pampering evening in Pershore has raised £240 for charity.

The evening was organised by Sarah Phelps to raise money for the Robert Welch Breath of Life Fund - in memory of her father.

Mr Welch died of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma in 2007 and since then Mrs Phelps, of Pershore, has raised more than £6,000 for the British Lung Foundation.

The latest event was a pampering and shopping evening at Number 8 Community Arts Centre, Pershore, on Friday, February 19.

Mrs Phelps said: “I'm very pleased with the amount raised as it was such a dreadful evening with the snow having fallen on the Thursday night.

“I wish to thank all of the many businesses in Pershore and surrounding areas who gave up their time so generously to support me – Beth of Special Occasions, Top Drawer, Out Of India, Audrey’s Hats, Jolie Ladieswear.”
