Pigs rescued from river

TWO large pigs have been rescued from the banks of a Worcestershire river.

The pigs were rescued from the river Rea at Newnham Bridge, near Tenbury Wells, by the Talbot pub, just after 2.30pm yesterday (Tues).

Hereford and Worcester fire and rescue service received a call from a passerby and sent two fire engines from Tenbury Wells and a rescue boat and support crew from Worcester.

The pigs were believed to have been in the water for some time and have now been handed over to the RSPCA.

Well done to the Fire Service for saving their bacon.
