Knitting club has it covered!

A WORCESTER school club which decided to knit blankets as part of a new project are to donate them to a children’s centre in South Africa. Perdiswell Primary School, in Bilford Road, currently runs a knitting club for eight girls.

They wanted to create a project for more pupils to get involved with and a parent suggested the Morning Star children’s centre in Welkom, South Africa, which helps to care for youngsters affected by HIV and Aids.

Teacher Rachel Chalmers said: “The feedback has been phenomenal.

“Before I knew it, family members, teachers and even dinner ladies were donating squares to be used.”
