EVOCATIVE tale Cider with Rosie is the latest production by Swan Theatre Amateur Company at Worcester's Swan Theatre from Thursday, June 16. The best-selling autobiography by Laurie Lee charts his growing up as a boy in the Cotswold village of Slad before the Second World War.

Rural traditions, local legends, ghosts and neighbours and the ending of a way of life are all described in a poetic way.

Adapted for the stage by James Roose-Evans, director Chris Jaegar uses sixteen actors to create the 24 characters that surround the boy Laurie in the play.

Performances take place from Thursday, June 16, to Saturday, June 25, with evening shows at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced £9.50 (£8 concessions, £7 June 16 and June 21). Call 01905 611427 to book.
