ARTS THEATRE CLUB: The last evening meeting of the season was on May 20. The speaker for that evening had been taken ill earlier in the week but members were delighted that Frank Townsend was able to step in at short notice. He gave a talk on Family Tree Tapping and led members through the intricacies of parish records and gravestone inscriptions, which had helped him to trace his family tree back for several generations.
A visit had been made on May 17 to the Swan Theatre in Worcester, to see the Russian Spectacular.
The first meeting of the next season will be on Friday, September 16, when the speaker will be Ray Sturdy, who will talk on Worcestershire Remembered.
Visitors and potential new members are always welcome to the evening meetings, which begin at 7.30pm in the Courtyard Room at Number 8. Further details can be obtained from the secretary, Mrs Dot Chapman, on 01386 552989.
