A HEREFORD counter-tenor will be singing a solo piece later this month at the acclaimed annual St David's Cathedral Festival.
Sebastian Field will be singing the solo alto part in Mozart's Vespers at the 27th annual classical musical festival on Monday, May 30.
It will be the highlight of the 22-year-old's singing career and he is looking forward to the experience in Pembrokeshire.
Sebastian, from Venns Lane, is a male alto or counter-tenor, the highest of the adult male voices.
He was inspired to sign alto by his first singing teacher, John Martyn, and by Stephen Gowland, a lay clerk at Hereford Cathedral. He was a chorister at Hereford Cathedral for five years.
Sebastian has sung the role of the Angel Gabriel in Bethlehem by Rutland Boughton in Glastonbury.
And Sebastian has also sung the part of David in the Hereford Christian Chorale's performance of Handel's oratorio Saul, under Richard Mynors.
Sebastian now sings at Bristol University, where he is finishing his degree course in English Literature. His first solo recital is taking place this month at Bristol Cathedral.
He will also be involved in a concert of Bach, Handel and Purcell at Truro Cathedral with other young soloists in June.
