IT has become a serious situation when local doctors and staff at the Merstow Green and Abbey Medical practices have to resort to highlighting their unsatisfactory accommodation through the Evesham Journal.

Our doctors appear to have little knowledge of what is going on behind the closed doors of Wychavon District Council.

We all know our doctors carry out their duties in a professional manner and it seems logical that their experience and advice should be considered by the authorities concerned.

The commissioning of professional advice may well be essential in re-development, but to accuse our doctors of basing their claims on inaccurate information is extremely arrogant.

If the authorities were to include the doctors in their considerations, then perhaps a sensible solution could be found to this long outstanding problem without as much delay as has so far been the case.

Our doctors justifiable complaints should be taken more seriously by the authorities as I feel sure their main concern over this long drawn out affair is about the welfare of their patients.

JOHN HODGSON, Shannon Way, Evesham.
