A NEW music studio for Hereford is launched this weekend, developed by former Thunderclap Newman guitarist Pete Goodall.

The new school, based at Hereford Cattle Market, offers a professional resource for musicians of all ages to learn and record.

An afternoon's music provided by the school's students and rhythm and blues performer Zoot Money precedes the official rebirth of Thunderclap Newman tomorrow (Friday) evening .

Saturday sees the launch of the school's own record label, Speakeasy - which offers world-wide distribution.

The label's first product, Pick 'n' Tell, features music by Pete Goodall, lyrics by Cream lyricist Pete Brown and vocals by Zoot.

"Never before have music industry professionals established anything like this in Hereford," said Pete.

"The school is destined, with top class recording studio, record label and global distributor, to be a great place to learn, write and perform."

The studio aims to produce and release three albums a year featuring Marches talents, and is organising a battle of the bands competition.

First prize will be a recording and distribution contract with Speakeasy.

The studios will ben open over Saturday and Sunday from 2pm. Further details on 01432 343808.
