THE Oriel Singers, an amateur choir from Cheltenham, fresh from their recent success in winning the BBC Radio 3 Choir of the Year Competition, will be singing in Overbury Church on Saturday, May 7. The visit is the final event of the season in the Parish Music series of concerts in country churches. The Singers, under their director Tim Morris, will perform works by Monteverdi. Chaikowsky, Vaughan Williams and Poulenc and will feature some of the Choir of the Year items. "Anyone who heard their performances at the competition on radio or television will know what an outstanding musical experience is in store," said Julian Alington, one of the organisers of Parish Music.
The concert starts at 8pm and admission costs £5 on the door. There is no charge for students.
