TOP musician Dr Teeth is set to drop into Worcester with his band for their last gig before they make the trip across the pond for a tour in the USA.
The former bouncer and reformed heavy metal singer moved all the way from Chicago to front the wildly swinging nine-piece Dr Teeth Big Band.
The group is the Midlands premier jump-jive orchestra, performing original tunes as well as standards from the likes of Ray Charles, Louis Jordan and Duke Ellington, in a frenzy of killer boogie-woogie and rhythm and blues.
And their gig at Worcester's Marr's Bar tonight will be their last in the country before they head back to Chicago for a string of gigs.
Now, with an expanded horn section (Andy Derrick joins on trombone), brand-new material and show-stopping jive choreography, the band is ready to take the party to the next level.
"Imagine hearing In the Mood for the first time - it must have been electric," said the band's musical director Simon Kemp.
"Now I hear bands play that tune like it belongs in a library and it kills it dead.
"We play jive like it should take the plaque off your teeth, and if you come to one of our shows I dare you not to dance!"
Doors open for the gig at 8pm and tickets are £5 id advance or £8 on the door.
