WEDNESDAY CLUB: Mr John Wilson from Coggeshall Farm and Museum talked to members about Shepherds. John had brought along examples of Shepherd lore, ancient tools, dress and equipment and he explained their use and answered questions.
In December, John Kinchin continued his personal history of Mickleton. Members were kept interested and entertained. Some of his memories were sad ones, mostly they were tales of villagers and their activities in the village. He included amusing stories from the war years, about the cartwheel covered with barbed wire, stationed outside the garage, which at the time was in the High Street. The wheel was Mickleton's defence in case the Germans came to attack the village. It was to be rolled out across the road to vanquish the enemy.
January 5: New Year lunch at The Three Ways. January 19: Snow Geese in Mexico, talk by Tony Hamblin.
SPORTS CLUB: The bingo held at the Royal British Legion in Chipping Campden by members raised £220.
