CHAOS Legion can best be described as Devil May Cry with no puzzles and all action!

Whenever our hero Seig attacks an enemy "soul" points are gained. With enough points, legions can be summoned to assist Seig.

Legions vary from swordsmen to 20ft monsters. As legions gain experience, points can be used to boost the attributes of legion and tributes, thus strengthening them.

The difficulty quickly increases as the game progresses but thankfully the player gains a new legion every few stages.

A minor setback is that gamers can only select two legions per stage. This adds a strategic element -- should a new legion fight or an old legion continue to gain experience points? The array of enemies ranging from large beasts to aeroplane-like creatures to balls of spikes are all displayed in beautifully rendered 3D.

The sound effects are not particularly special but there is a spectacular feast of colour as gamers hack into enemies. Lasers are fired and anarchy occurs. If that isn't enough in terms of eye candy then watch Seig's coat flail out behind him like a true hero.

All in all Chaos Legion is a hugely successful arcade "hack 'em up".

Admittedly the storyline is limited and the action repetitive but at the end of the day Chaos Legion provides gamers with around 12 hours non-stop arcade action which is a rarity nowadays.
