THE third annual Kiddermin-ster Arts Festival got under way on Monday with musicians, artists and dancers filling the town's streets.

On Monday, children used chalk to decorate the pavement outside the Swan Centre and the sound of drums was heard in the town centre as musicians, Drum Love, performed with people who had attended their workshops during the day.

Do-Day crafts let visitors get creative on Tuesday, in Kidderminster Town Hall and children and teenagers were able to learn how to dance like a pop star at choreography workshops held yesterday.

The festival, organised by Wyre Forest District Council will continue until next Thursday and will include further free workshops, performances and activities to interest people of all ages.

Loz Samuels, the council's art and play development officer, said the event was proving popular, adding: "The arts festival is going fantastically well.

"We have had really good crowds, everybody was really enjoying it and we got positive feedback - people want more.

"Drum Love were just brilliant. They got really big crowds and there were so many people who wanted to participate in the workshops. People were really joining in and dancing in the streets."

She added: "I'm really looking forward to Carnival Collective - they have got a really good reputation - and Physical Jerk because they are really good breakdancers and it's great to get somebody like that in Kidderminster."
