A Herefordshire artist will leave her mark up north, having gained the commission to create a 40-metre mural for the new Brian Clough Business Centre in Derby.

Lynne Hollingsworth, who attended Fairfield High School, Peterchurch and Herefordshire College of Art and Design, has gained a national reputation for her artworks and established her own company - Hollingsworth Designs - in 2002.

She graduated from the Falmouth School of Art in Cornwall in 1993 and has taught and lectured extensively.

"I feel very privileged and honoured to have been selected to paint this mural, which will become part of Derby's heritage," Lynne said.

"Brian Clough was a very important and much-loved character in Derby and I hope the mural will be a fitting tribute to his memory."

Lynne will be working on the mural with a group of young people from the area over the summer.
