OPERA star Katherine Jenkins is to headline the opening event at this year's Brecon Jazz.
Performing with the National Chamber Orchestra of Wales in the festival's Watton Marquee, the mezzo-soprano will open the festival on Thursday, August 11, at 8pm.
Kathryn is the latest big name from outside the world of jazz to be attracted to the leading event, following in the footsteps of Van Morrison and Welsh rockers Super Furry Animals.
