WHAT a wonderful news for the North Cotswolds is announced on your front page, Cotswold Journal July 21. A new hospital in Moreton.
Fairly recently I was an in-patient on Dugdale ward and I am very grateful for the care I received, both from the nursing staff and my own Oxford Street Surgery GPs. The general hygiene and cleanliness of the ward was good too. I think having local staff of all grades, rather than being contracted out, does mean higher standards. Also a friendly and welcoming atmosphere which I hope will be transferred to the new hospital.
Being nursed locally is so much easier for friends and family to visit and I appreciated the pleasant and green surroundings rather than looking out onto car parks and other buildings.
All the staff at Moreton Hospital have proved their worth in giving good care in not too ideal circumstances. They certainly deserve better.
May it not be too long before the green light is given and the dream is turned into reality.
