GARDENING CLUB: On July 12, members living in Ebrington village centre had the opportunity to show off the fruits of their labours, as the club took a stroll around their gardens. The sun shone, the wine flowed, and the gardens looked stunning. It was a lovely relaxed evening (at least for those members not showing their gardens) and ended with a barbecue, hosted by Bill and Sally Bond-Williams.

Members now look forward to the annual flower and produce show on Saturday, August 20 at Washbrook Barn. Last year, it was particularly pleasing to see the number of junior entries. To encourage this trend, two gardening club members spent a morning with the children of Ebrington School, planting seeds and cuttings (donated by Sabins Nursery and Hidcote Gardens). As a result, it is hoped that each child will have a plant to enter into the show if they wish. This also complements the work that the children have already done in creating a magnificent vegetable plot in the school garden. The show will open to the public at 2pm, entrance is £1 (free for children) and afternoon teas will be available. For details of membership or show schedules, contact David White on 01386 593312 (children do not need to be members to enter the show).
