THE Three Choirs Festival is proving that classical music moves with the times by auctioning on e-bay the opportunity to conduct the Hallelujah Chorus in Worcester Cathedral.
The winning bidder will conduct the piece from Handel's Messiah as part of the Bring and Sing Messiah, the penultimate event in the Worcester festival programme on Saturday, August 13.
The performance, with full chorus, features international soloists Patricia Rozario (soprano), Christopher Ainslie (counter-tenor), Allan Clayton (tenor), Daniel Jordan (bass-baritone) and the English Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Sir David Willcocks, one of the world's leading choral conductors.
It is a fantastic opportunity to conduct a professional orchestra with experienced chorus in a public performance of one of the all-time great musical scores.
The e-bay auction opened yesterday (Wednesday) and will close on Saturday, July 30. Go to ebay.co.uk for full details.
