RAGLEY Hall is allowing visitors to get to know more about bats on Friday, August 26.

The 'Bats and BBQ' evening is set to be an informative evening where visitors can learn more about the nocturnal creatures.

The informative event is introduced by expert Andrew Heath, from the Warwickshire Bat Group, who will talk about the different types of bat in the Midlands, while visitors can enjoy a barbecue.

Guests will then be taken on a guided bat-walk around the gardens and lake to spot the bats at Ragley for themselves.

Everyone will get the chance to try out the latest bat detecting equipment, while Heath shares top tips and hints for seeing and hearing these shy mammals.

Head gardener at Ragley Hall Ross Barbour said: "We have identified at least five different species of bat at Ragley so the chance of spotting some of these furry flyers is high."

The evening starts at 7pm and tickets are on sale now and costs £10 each, for bookings call 01789 762090.
