PLAYWRITE Henry James' timeless classic tale of unrequited love, Daisy Miller, is to have its world premier at Malvern Theatres at the end of August,before embarking on a national tour later this year.
This magical story is brought to life on a stage for the first time by an all star cast including Jean Boht, Shirley Anne Field, Sandra Dickinson and Scarlett Johnson.
Daisy Miller follows the adventures of a young American writer who gets intangled with the eponymous plain speaking beauty by a Swiss lake.
The young man, Winterbourne, pursues her to Rome where her outspoken behaviour shocks everyone. Against the advice of his elders, he continues to defend her against their condemnation. The story drives forward to a tragedy that will ultimately haunt him for evermore.
Scarlett Johnson, (Vicki from EastEnders) one of the brightest new talents on the stage circuit, makes her UK touring debut in Malvern as Daisy.
The show can be seen at Malvern Theatres on Tuesday , August 30 until Saturday, September 3.
