VOICES: Last March a group of friends met in a garden shed in Badsey to recall old stories and anecdotes of the Vale of Evesham. This parochial event would have passed by unnoticed had it not formed part of the BBC's Voices 2005 project, which explores local dialects in Britain today. Broadcaster John Hellings, was on hand to record the utterances of Wendy Beasley, Terry Brotherton and Michael Hewlett of Badsey, together with Evesham poet, Mike Edwards. Extracts from the four, all exponents of Asum grammar, may be heard on BBC radio during the next few weeks as well as transcripts on the BBC website.
