DUDLEY Little Theatre is kicking off its 2005/2006 season with John Godber comedy Teechers.

The popular play is being staged at Netherton Arts Centre, Northfield Road, Netherton, from Wednesday September 14 to Saturday September 17, with performances starting at 7.30pm.

The DLT had been due to feature Arthur Miller's drama The Crucible as part of its 59th season, but as the Royal Shakespeare Company has decided to include it in its programme the group could not obtain performing rights.

So after a re-think, a season of comedies has been lined-up.

Teechers, which centres on the exploits of three different students in their last year of school at a bog-standard comprehensive, will be followed by Mike Harding's seasonal outing Comfort and Joy - which runs from December 7 to 10.

The society's spring show will be prolific playwright Ronald Harwood's funny and eccentric Quartet, which runs from March 8 to 11.

And the season finale will be cult comedy Allo Allo by David Croft and Jeremy Lloyd, which runs from May 10 to 13.

Tickets for all shows cost £5.50, £4.50 concessions - and there is a ten per cent discount on group bookings of ten or more.

Call the Information Centre at Dudley Library on 01384 812812, Chris Ridgeway on 01384 872583 or 01384 827820. Tickets are also available on the door.
