COFFEE MORNING: The annual WI coffee morning held at the village hall to raise money towards the senior citizens' Christmas party raised £426.

WEDNESDAY CLUB: The club resumes activities for the next session with the annual general meeting to be held at the village hall on Wednesday, September 14 at 2.45pm. Previous members and any new residents wishing to join will be welcome and any inquiries may be made to Lesley Goodliffe, phone 01386 853148.

VILLAGE OF THE YEAR FETE: The eagerly awaited fete, won as a prize in the Cotswold Life Magazine Village of the Year competition, was held last Saturday in ideal weather. The hard work put in by so many resulted in a splendid day attended by more than 3,000 people from a very wide area and will benefit every organisation in the village as a result of the approximately £4,000 raised.

The fete was opened by Adam Henson of the Cotswold Rare Breeds Farm and presenter of country matters on the BBC Countryfile programme. Sponsored by Mitsubishi Motors and Cotswold Life Magazine, main organisers, the fete's local organising committee, representing different village community interests, once again came up with a fantastic effort.

CHURCH OF ENGLAND CHILDREN'S SOCIETY: The amount raised in the annual box appeal was £116. If anyone would like to take a box for collections the contact is Ruth Daintith (01386 858448).

ST PETER'S CHURCH: A coffee morning in aid of the church fabric fund will be held on Saturday at 10.30am, at Dereham House by permission of Mr and Mrs Basil Fox. If wet, in the village hall.

HARVEST SUPPER: This year's harvest supper will be held in the village hall on Saturday, September 24, 7pm for 7.30pm. Tickets are on sale at the village Post Office and Willersey Stores.

METHODIST CHURCH: All residents are reminded of the following functions: Every Friday - coffee is served in schoolrooms between 10am and 11.30am with fair trade goods on sale then and whenever the church is open. The Bible study group meets every Tuesday evening at 7.30pm, joined by friends from Broadway Methodist Church. The Munch Brunch lunch continues to provide meals - the next lunch is on Wednesday, September 21 at 12.30pm - inquiries to Elizabeth Ingles on 853400. The Tuesday Fellowship resumes meetings on Tuesday, September 6 at 2.30pm in the Church Room, the speaker will be Rev Stephen Mullings.

BLOOD DONORS: The next session take places on Monday, September 19 from 1pm to 3.15pm and from 4.30pm to 7.15pm.

WILLERSEY FOOTLIGHTS: The AGM of the Footlights will be held in the village hall on Friday, September 16, at 8pm.
