WRITER Wendy Grounds has just published her latest book of poems, entitled Recollections.
Wendy spent her childhood in Malvern and Recollections includes poems written during her schooldays, including These I Have Loved, inspired by Rupert Brooke's poem of the same name, and A Wild Night, evoking wartime fears.
She went on to qualify as a paediatric nurse and later as a teacher, spending 25 years teaching in schools around Essex. But she has now returned to the area she loves best.
She has had short stories and historical articles published, as well as poetry, and her book Saturday's Child was chosen as a contribution to the Millennium Life Story Collection.
Recollections is dedicated to her husband, who died ten years ago, and features illustrations by Ann Corbett-Smith.
Recollections, priced £5, is available from the author at Link End House, 23 Pickersleigh Road, Malvern, or on 01684 565850.
