Priory Park will be filled with music and colour during a fundraising event on Saturday, September 10.

Party in the Park offers a free afternoon of entertainment for all ages, from 11am onwards.

Music begins at noon, with an impressive line-up headed by Malvern-based reggae star Ben Okafor.

Also performing are Taxi, Celluloid, Strange Machine, Amplifico, Keiko, Backwash, Malvern Big Band, MK Ultra with Emma White, The Tickets, Left Side Cut and Simply Luke Leighfield.

Drum and Bass sessions with guest DJs and MCs will also take place. Youngsters can join the fun with bouncy castles, face-painting and a host of workshops, including circus skills, art and DJ-ing.

Banners and flags created by children and youth groups around the town have been strung down Church Street ahead of the event, organised by TG's Project and Malvern Hills Youth Council.

"It's going to be a really fun day," said TG's spokesman Jan Bradford. "It's an opportunity for people of all ages in Malvern to come and enjoy free entertainment, while we can raise the profile of our project."

TG's was set up in memory of young skater Tim Greenwood and aims to build an indoor skate park, caf and youth venue in Malvern.

Programmes for the day will be available from tomorrow (Saturday) priced £1 from Malvern Tourist Information Centre, Chilled, on Graham Road, and Mycycles, in Malvern Link.

Proceeds will go to TG's Project and Cancer and Leukaemia in Childhood.
