PIROUETTING her way to stardom is a young dancer from Old Hollow, West Malvern

Colette Higgs, 13, has won a scholarship to the Tring Arts Educational School, in Hertfordshire, worth £22,000 a year.

She shined at two auditions to win her place and began studying classical ballet this week.

Colette's parents, Tony and Elizabeth, said they were very proud of their daughter.

"She's really worked hard for it," said Tony.

Last month, Colette won a gold medal and the Janice Fullman award in the junior ballet championship at the All England Dance Festival 2005.

A former Chase pupil, she learnt to dance at the Harlequin Stage School in Worcester.
