THE sound of jazz, blues, folk and African grooves are set to fill Worcester's Huntingdon Hall this month as two celebrated musicians take to the stage.

John Etheridge was the guitarist for the renowned jazz violinist Stephane Grappelli and he has also worked with some of the jazz greats, including Barney Kessel, Herb Ellis, Dizzy Gillespie and Tony Williams.

His performances range from an African groove, like Guitar Makossa, to Billie Holiday's God Bless The Child, Jerome Kern's Can't Help Lovin' Dat Man and Swing Low, Sweet Chariot.

Etheridge, described by The Times as one of the best guitarists in the world, is taking to the road to share his music with audiences across the country.

Joining him on the tour - which takes in Huntingdon Hall on Thursday, November 17 - is singer/songwriter Kit Holmes.

Kit's influences range from pop to folk, blues and soul, and her debut album features the legendary double-bass player Danny Thompson.

The concert at Huntingdon Hall starts at 8pm and tickets are £10, concessions £9. A guitar workshop also precedes the concert - from 6.15pm to 7pm - for all abilities. Tickets are £5 for the workshop or £2 if buying a concert ticket.
