Well, can you believe it? I thought I'd pulled off a real publicity coup getting Britt Eckland for the Swan pantomime.

Then I thought I might even have topped that by getting Van Morrison for two shows at Huntingdon Hall in December (both already sold out) and then. I'm completely 'out-Barnumed' (just made that word up!) by the cricket ground getting Elton John, next June.

That's fantastic, fair dos, great for Worcester. I doff my Ringmaster's top hat to them. Well done. I've been trying to outdo them all week but, at the moment, the Pope won't take my calls.

I was fortunate enough to attend a thanksgiving service at the Cathedral last week to celebrate the new University of Worcester.

It was a splendid occasion, with many of the good and the great of Worcester present, and a few of us that are neither. What struck me was the sheer excitement and exuberance of the people present. There was a real sense of something new and exciting happening, and I, for one, believe that having a University is really good news for this City.

It is super to be in on it at the very start, and I wish everybody involved with the University the very best of luck and good fortune. Another good thing happening in Worcester.

Aren't these things meant to go in threes? Well, the way the Arts are flying in Worcester at the moment, anything could happen. Watch this space! And Shrek is turning on the Christmas lights as well. The fun is never ending!
