ROCK legends Diamond Head are returning to Stourbridge for the first time in over 20 years.

The group, lead by Stourbridge guitarist Brian Tatler have been cited as influencing some of the biggest names in music, including Metallica, who have performed with Brian at some of their biggest UK shows.

Diamond Head led a wave of British rock bands to success in the 80s but split due to record company problems and internal wrangling before reaching what many pundits believed was their full potential.

They are now back on the road full-time with a new line-up and a new album, to mark their comeback they are performing at the Rock Caf 2000, Mill Race Lane, on Saturday September 12.

Brian Tatler said: "It will be our first hometown gig since we played at the Town Hall in 1981 and promises to be a special night.

"We have a new album entitled All Will Be Revealed out now in the shops on Cargo and we filmed a show at London's Astoria earlier this month for Diamond Head's first DVD to be released next year."

Last year heralded a landmark change for the band with the addition of singer/songwriter Nick Tart before they hit the road in Europe for a 22 date tour with Megadeth in February 20005.
